Orthodox Youth

Brief History:

The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) unit at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral was formed in 2006 under the spiritual guidance of our priest Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese. Since then OCYM has been functioning as an active spiritual organization of St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral, catering the needs of the youth.

Our Mission:

The aim is to inculcate Christian faith in the youth members and lead them to a peaceful life. The purpose of this movement is to fulfil the Christian needs of the youth members. Additionally, ensuring that each of its member gets an environment to meet their social requirements. To support its mission, OCYM committee organizes various spiritual and social events for the youth members.

Who are we and what we do?

All the St. Thomas IOC individuals who are from age 18-45 are the members of OCYM movement.

Meetings are conducted on the Third Sunday of each month, and involve activities such as prayer, interactive discussions, bible studies and talks from influential speakers. The group has been involved in most church activities such as the working bee and participating in annual celebrations such as our Christmas and St. Thomas day programs.
